SFX
The "Earth's Greatest SF and Fantasy Magazine" (that's a quote but I don't doubt it) has given Acacia a rather lovely positive nod. The UK based SFX had nice things to say, including "This could be the arrival of a fantasy classic". But that's not even the best of it...

Very cool, congrats.
By the way, my puppy is having a dream, so he's lying on my feet and "yipping" in a very dream like way - which has nothing to do with this comment to your post, I know, but it's fun, none-the-less. ;)
Anyway, I'm seriously thinking that the UK release of Acacia is a good reason to go ahead and make the move to the UK. I've been toying with it for a few years. I threw my idea to my wife, and she immediately stopped talking to me - I'm not sure if that's good or bad. When I figure it out I'll let you know.
Okay all BS aside, I really like the UK cover, so I'm thinking about importing a copy.
IJ,
Do you know how close to home your puppy inspired... uh... international moving aspirations are to my... uh... heart?
My wife is Scottish. I met her over there and - though she's had a good time on occasion in the USA, she's pretty clear about wanting to be back home before long.
So maybe I'll see you over there.
Ha! You bet.
Ask her what they were thinking when when they came up with Golf? ;)
Great review, David. But remember that I said all those things first. Just not quite as well. which is why I don't write reviews.
I kinda like golf. I've only played once in the last fifteen years, but it was in Scotland on a wonderfully... um... "atmospheric" day. Gudrun, though, has no interest in golf or it's history, so she'll shed no light on that question.
Thanks, Debbie. Means just as much coming from you, although I'm inclined to believe SFX might sell a few more books for me...
That's great! I really like the cover on that paperback as well.
I just finished reading Acacia this week, and I enjoyed it very much. You can read my review -- for what it's worth (I'm no SFX or Literary Journal, just a fan) -- on my web site.

When's the next installment coming out?
Hi Steven,
Thanks for that kind review! Much appreciated.
The next book is scheduled for Aug/Sept 2009. That's a year after the paperback of Acacia 1 hits, later this summer.
