The Video
By nature my inclination is to steer away from politics here on the blog. I guess that's because I find our politics so divisive, and I'd rather communicate with people than have them turned on or off by my politics. But I'd be disappointed with myself if I didn't provide the link to the video below. Yes, it features the person I'd like to be the next president, but, regardless of that, it's also just the sort wide armed, moving, inclusive rhetoric that I've been missing for a long time now.
So, yes I can post this link...

Nice video, although I'm probably a bit biased in my own way ;)
By the way, this is totally off-topic, but I did complete that review I mentioned a few days ago that I would be doing. It's here.
Hi Larry,
Thanks for that review. It's thorough and thoughtful and evenly considered, as ever. I can't ask for more than that.
So that means you've read ALL four of my published books? Geez, I've got to pick up the pace a bit!
-David.
I try my best to avoid hyperbole, but if you read between the lines (or just read the lines, I guess! :P), you'd probably get the idea that most historical fiction frustrates me. Since I wasn't frustrated that much (there were a few, minor occasions that I touched upon, but in many of those cases, I felt it was my own particular biases at play more than what you had written), it was easy for me to write a positive review.
And yes, I've read all four of them, although I still need to write reviews of Gabriel's Story and Walk Through Darkness. I read those during a point in my professional life where I wasn't in the mood to comment on anything. Thankfully, I left that position and am in a better frame of mind to do a re-read/review :D
Sounds good. And I do think crafting reviews so that a reader has to read between the lines a little is a good thing. It doesn't mean we're not saying what we mean, right? Sometimes I just find that what I mean often lies between the lines a bit...
Enjoyed that video - who put it together? And are there some famous faces in there? Thought I recognised Scarlett Johansson.
Sorley
Hi Sorley,
Yep. Lots of famous faces - although not mostly FAMOUS faces. It includes Jesse Dylan, Will.i.am, Common, Scarlett Johansson, Tatyana Ali, John Legend, Herbie Hancock*, Kate Walsh, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Adam Rodriquez, Kelly Hu, Adam Rodriquez, Amber Valetta, Eric Balfour, Aisha Tyler, Nicole Scherzinger and Nick Cannon. Scarlett Jo is a vocal Obama supporter. (No pun intended.)
I'm not exactly sure who put it together, but the Obama people did not. It was an outside effort, as I understand it.
Ah, the rapper, songwriter and producer will.i.am, from the Black Eyed Peas created it.
Nice vid. This is the hope most of us Europeans have for you over there in America :)
