Acacia accepted!

Just spoke with my editor, Gerry Howard at Doubleday. He's signing off on the manuscript for Acacia. There's some editing to be done, sure, but his reaction was very encouraging. Looks like Doubleday will be aiming for a June 2007 publication. Couldn't be happier.

Mr. Durham, Thank You

I have just finished your WALK THROUGH DARKNESS and what a journey it was. I am one who lives inside any book I read, and your story telling just took me by the hand and leads me on.

Nice

I am a 74-year-old white guy, who was brought up in Maryland. I know the Eastern Shore - Baltimore - and to a lesser degree, Philadelphia. The 1930’s were not that much different from the time you relate. I can run with William and feel his need. I am sure you have seen things that you wished you had not - but those things helped mold you into the writer you are today. And my past has seen things that were dormant - but your book brought to life, And I thank you for it. And I thank you for saying what you said in the under-current of your story, in the way you said it. A fine work. A good read. And one I will keep in my library forever.

Thanks again

E G

David,

I was about to send an e-mail asking whether you'd heard from your editor yet. I just happened to check here first.
Congratulations.
