The Final Winner - After the ReDo!

So you'll have to trust me on this (which is nothing new - you've had to trust me on all of it - I'm worthy of your trust, by the way), but the new, official winner was selected after an evening session of diving. I won't make you wait too long. You should know that Padme went up against the Wookie Tarful and the Gungin General Tarpals.

It was a close competition, but a definitive winner did arise. Said winner is seen in the this photo... Not being nearly as reserved as I expected, Tarful began working the crowd.

It's possible that the time spent down under caused some damage. I'm not sure. But he did get rather wild... Still, Tarfuls pulled it off. That, I believe, means that the Dynastic Queen is our official winner. All hail the Queen! And... least anyone doubt it, this is yet more evidence that good relations with the Wookies it is advantageous to have.

Whoopie for the Wookie!

And the General thanks you and Paranoyd for the second shot at victory. Right honorable of you both, I say.

Erika,

And your gracious response is well appreciated.

It's only been a day, but I haven't yet heard from Dynastic Queen. I assume she'll pipe up soon, but even this isn't final until she does...

Thanks for trying Pride of Carthage, too! As ever, I hope you like it.

-David.

Wow, I'm listening to Pat Rothfuss's interview over at the Dead Robots Society while reading your blog.

And now I'm thankful that I did all those drugs back in college, because now this seems kind of normal.

;)

Cool contest, looks like everyone had a good time! ;)

Enjoy the new house!

WHAT?? I zoom out for a few days and come back to... VICTORY??

Really, David? You mean it?

Hold up--I've got to go back and re-read that amazing diving post again. And try to figure out what the heck just happened. LOL!

You know, the funny thing of it is... during our crazy Star Wars moments (me and my brothers, that is), my nickname was Yoda, Middle Brother's was Solo, and our 6'4" 230 lb Baby Brother who just passed away was always Chewy, the only one big enough to be the Wookie. That's... pretty cool.

I'm really excited. And humbled.

Thanks, Paranoyd. You are honorable, indeed.

Thanks, David, for being so kind as to give us all chances to win your work.

I have SO wanted to dig into Acacia (no extra $ in the ol' budget for books yet this year). And I'm getting the UK version at that? Awesome. Did I mention I love Wookies? Okay, shutting up now. :)

Excellent. I'm glad someone who does not have the book is getting it.

Now we can BOTH read it! (Yes, I'm still reading Crystal Rain. I'll get to Acacia, David. Really I will.)

Hi Stephe,

Well, I'm very glad you're pleased.

(I'm sorry to hear your brother passed away recently, but I'm sort of stunned that his Star Wars totem race represented you in such winning style here. Small thing, but, yeah... pretty cool.)

I'll get the book in the mail to you today! I hope you like it, and - if you do - I hope you tell lots of folks about it!

Oh yeah--definitely. I'm all about big pimpin' in our writers/artists community. I've had a link to you on my blog for some time, and I'll make certain my f-list and readers start getting acquainted with ACACIA with my next post.

It's a hefty story with driven characters (just my thing) and an awesome premise. I've read excerpts of your writing. I can't imagine not liking this book...
