Wow. You get the most gorgeous covers!
ZOMG! I cannot wait!! I'm going to re-read Acacia, stat!
That is a gorgeous cover, David. I can't wait for the audio book.r
Do you have any idea how soon "The Other Lands" will be available for my Kindle?
I'd be happy to take one off your hands :) The cover looks fabulous.
I think that's the biggest rhetorical question I've ever heard. :)
It looks fantastic. Just seeing it made me want to be creative today.
You could barter with them. I've got a wiener dog... actually I have two, you can have the one of your choice... wiener dogs are cracker-jack pets you know, and if you're in a bind, they make a tasty kabob.
All yours for the price of one copy.... come on, you know you want to! ;)
Thanks, folks!
Incubus Jax,
A wiener dog, huh? I'll have to ask the kids about that...
Linda,
I'm not sure about Kindle availability. I'd like to say it'll be in that format pretty immediately, but I don't know for sure. If I find out I'll post about it.
Oh man that looks great! :-) I think it goes without saying that you should definitely do a giveaway! :-) Don't even have to mention that I'd love one... :-) Ooooh man, I agree, a re-read of Acacia is in order! :-)
I have had Acacia...for a little while now, waiting for the second one to come out - I am a greedy little reviewer! So, witness me making my movies to read and love Acacia as I've been told very good things about it!
The books look lovely - huge congrats!
If you plan on giving the book to me I think the giveaway is a truly wonderful idea. If not, well, I'm somewhat ambivalent on the matter.
Brilliant cover David, I think you should have some type of competition give us all a chance to win a copy?
Since that's the german cover of the first book, I am very eager to see what cover they will use for the translation this time! ;)
/me wants the translation NOW!!!!1111oneoneonelven
;)
I totally need one to match my ARC of Acacia! Think of it like junk mail... if you let me have one you'll have good luck for 7 years... or you will become rich... or my millions in Nigeria could be yours...
Yes, you should, I want one! :-)
Just saw your message and replied, sorry about the delay.
Congrats on the book, looks great!
Woooow. Fantastic cover! I'd like a copy...*cough*
I think you should carry one with you everywhere you go, and take pictures. "This is me and The Other Lands having coffee, me and The Other Lands getting the oil changed in the car, me and The Other Lands arguing with the bank ATM...
Nah. Maybe not. :)
Uhm...YES, please!
Are you accepting bribes? If so, in what field? Money? Booze?
The elusive "other" category?
(great to see that it's all moving along...now, for the audio!)
Nice...I dig the cover.
Okay. I tell you what, first I have to finish packing up here in Fresno, and then drive across the country, and then settle in to our house in MA and then go to Readercon and then teach at Stonecoast. There's probably some other stuff in there to do also...
But once I'm sane again - let's say later in July - I'll do a personal giveaway of this book and maybe a few other things as we head toward publication day - Sept 15th. So, free stuff is on the way!
(Although not for you, Allison. Your only hope is bribery of some sort.)
Sheesh, David--I'm already buying you booze! I guess I'm going to have to dig deeper in my bag of persuasion tactics...
Glad to know I have some time to scheme.
Perfect.
And Liz - Thanks for hanging on to the first Acacia. I humbly hope you read and like them both!
Uh ... I hope some of these ARCs will be sent out to your foreign publishers; especially the German one. If this happens there is some good chance, one of them will end up on my desk.
*trying to conjure the gods of publishing*
Gerd,
I hope one gets to you also. No word yet on German publication. I'll be sure to announce it if I hear any good news!
Sweeeeeet.
Fair travels, good luck on the move. I hate moving. It's almost worth it just to sell everything and start over. ;)
Good luck on the move David, hope everything works out fine. :)
Put me in for a copy. Especially after I was SOO taken in by your little flying penguin stunt. :) Anybody that naive certainly deserves the best book to be coming out in quite some time.
You know, we actually have sold almost everything several times before as we jumped back and forth across the Atlantic. This time we're keeping most of our stuff, and we're going back to a home we own. Sort of like progress for us.
Ryan, you've made me laugh again. Thanks for that.
I'm so excited! Why tease me with the cover? Is September 15th the UK release date? Us Brits often get pushed back a bit when it comes to release, it angers me severly especially when I can't handle the anticipation! I'm thinking I will most definitley take a copy of your hands they must be a real pain having to carry around with you! The cover is extremely attractive, lucky man!
Chloé,
Hi. Teasing is what this stuff is all about, yes? Very glad to hear I have you hooked, though. :)
As for the release date, I'm not sure. I haven't spoken to my Transworld publisher about that. I see on Amazon.co.uk that the date is five days EARLIER than the US date. That may be true, but I don't know. When I do hear I'll mention it on the blog!
Awesome cover. I'm still getting caught up on feeds in my Google Reader from the past 2 weeks. I didn't miss a post where you are running a giveaway for one of these, did I?
Jeff C,
No, you didn't miss anything. I've been caught up in moving cross country the last few weeks. When things settle down a bit I'll start giving away this and that. ;)
