Yes, there is that to consider... I'd also note that Gudrun has managed to take lots of lovely exterior winter photos, but considering that Shetland this time of the year only has a few hours of daylight... those photos aren't entirely representative of what it feels like to live through a day.
Still, for some, there's no other place in the world to call home - and my father in law is one of those people. (Although, I might also note that as I arrive in Shetland he's off to spend the Holidays in summering New Zealand...)

What's the day the rocket takes off for Shetland? You gonna give us a countdown?
Happy Holidays,

Tuesday, Tuesday, Tuesday!!!
Rocket has launched. It just takes a while for it to actually touch down in Shetland. A few necessary refueling stops along the way, you see.

Nice pictures, as usual. But I don't think I could live in a place so desolated.

Eh, I didn't think about this. I don't particularly love the sun but I know that I need at least 8 hours of daylight, even in winter.
This is a (bad) picture of what I can sometime see from my window, when the air is clean and there's not too much humidity.
Knitted ornaments! Fantastic!
