That's all it means, but, to me, that's a significant thing and I'm glad they said it.David Anthony Durhamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13885922955551669016noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12158536.post-68690628398373855092009-02-08T19:14:00.000-05:002009-02-08T19:14:00.000-05:00Not to be overly picky (which means I'm being over...Not to be overly picky (which means I'm being overly picky) - the book copy says it is a "... delightfully diverse exploration of the wonderful gift of love."

Maybe I don't understand the term "diverse", but if the book is all from the African-American focus, is it fair to call it diverse? Unless they mean diverse from the "mainstream" of non-POC writers.

I'm all for the theme of the book. It just seems disingenuous to call something diverse that does not take into account diverse POVs. There is no reason to include white writers here, they are painfully well-enough represented, so that is not my (admittedly picky) issue. I just wonder at the use of certain words in hyperbolic sales copy.Corby Kennardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06891081576090200925noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12158536.post-27441638387059918392009-02-08T17:07:00.000-05:002009-02-08T17:07:00.000-05:00Thanks for putting the Amazon link in there, I'm s...Thanks for putting the Amazon link in there, I'm sure it's not to be easily found in MY neck of the woods. I'm trying to read more anthologies and collections outside my norm.
I love Nikki Giovanni's poetry... then there's this David guy who might be interesting to read. :)Constance Brewerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17964121072645959593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12158536.post-69463754150806371332009-02-08T15:12:00.000-05:002009-02-08T15:12:00.000-05:00Yep.
