Part of the process involves transferring notes, manually, from the author's marked up copy to the file that the final is in.

And all things considered, it could be much worse. Another author was telling me that she had a book come out that was missing the last page.Mary Robinette Kowalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11186499502632679751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12158536.post-50236692152030499662012-04-11T22:26:28.288-04:002012-04-11T22:26:28.288-04:00But will it be Poirot or Miss Marple who solves th...But will it be Poirot or Miss Marple who solves this one?Roberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17883996019518013913noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12158536.post-44948604947038180122012-04-11T19:53:34.308-04:002012-04-11T19:53:34.308-04:00The Missing First Line... sounds like an Agatha Ch...The Missing First Line... sounds like an Agatha Christie novel.Bryan Russellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09555071335245492790noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12158536.post-91961240081264322522012-04-11T14:33:49.712-04:002012-04-11T14:33:49.712-04:00Wow - that's a pretty severe mistake to make. ...Wow - that's a pretty severe mistake to make. Looking at her post, it appears lots of other things slipped through which she'd already corrected. Is corrections being lost and things going wrong a common occurance in publishing?

I can't help but respect the calmness Mary appears to be handling it with, fairly sure I'd be livid.Dan (Targh)https://www.blogger.com/profile/05319269388198750110noreply@blogger.com
