And that would be a good thing.

Me, though, I don't care for glossaries that much in fiction. I guess I feel like the books themselves are the glossary. The answers to any questions are there in the pages.

That's a quirk of mine, though. I also don't create elaborate lineages or extensive notes. Mostly, if I forget something I look for the answer in the novels themselves.

That's not to say that I shouldn't have a glossary. I probably should. That would be a cool thing to have on the website.

If only somebody would put it together for me...David Anthony Durhamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13885922955551669016noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12158536.post-55790719259387771572011-10-14T08:24:55.726-04:002011-10-14T08:24:55.726-04:00Thanks David,

Wonderfully written review, if you don't mind me saying so!

As to the forum... Well, that all depends on how many people want it to happen. You're not the first to ask since TSB came out. Thing is, the forum seemed to have such ups and downs before. When the first book came out it was really busy, and then it got quiet... And then the second book came out and things picked up, and then it got very quiet... I began to feel like I was spending more time deleting spam there than I was facilitating real conversations. That's why I closed it down.

If I get the feeling that opening it again would get people talking I'm happy to do so.David Anthony Durhamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13885922955551669016noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12158536.post-49329095706896722892011-10-13T14:58:59.222-04:002011-10-13T14:58:59.222-04:00Finished 'The Sacred Band' today, it was w...Finished 'The Sacred Band' today, it was wonderful. I am sort of an aspiring writer myself (I say aspiring as I mostly have ideas that form into outlines, but nothing much more as of yet) with a huge passion for world building. It isn't easy with a family, a job, home projects (I am a DIYer), and I'm even writing an iPhone app with my co-worker. Meeting authors, hearing their words of wisdom, and seeing their human nature is my way of keeping my dreams alive and moving toward the goal of being published someday. I love your writing style and your Acacia stories; I can see elements of your characters making their way into my own. Thank you for the inspiration and I can't wait for your next fantasy series!Nathan Washorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17623860060867520344noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12158536.post-6628622625004142162011-10-06T02:58:02.059-04:002011-10-06T02:58:02.059-04:00If you want to assuage that vague guilt you could ...If you want to assuage that vague guilt you could always write me a review on Amazon or some such. If I was in NE (I normally live in MA) I probably would have done some stuff in the region, but I'm in Scotland. Tours are harder to come by then they used to be - especially when the publisher needs to fly me from overseas. I honestly don't mind, though. Not doing a tour means I can keep my head on and keep working - which is pretty important after all.

Do you ever go to Boskone? I won't make it this winter, but I think it's a pretty good con right in Boston. And Readercon is great too. A lot of my face to face interaction with readers - and other writers - happens at sff conferences these days.David Anthony Durhamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13885922955551669016noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12158536.post-41378528974740650362011-10-04T12:07:48.762-04:002011-10-04T12:07:48.762-04:00Hi David,

I just wanted to know if you are planning on doing any kind of book tour signing thing and if so if you are coming to New England (Rhode Island would be awesome, but Boston is good too). Thanks.

NateNathan Washorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17623860060867520344noreply@blogger.com
