She was quick to pick up on smart, innovative ways to do things.

Gudrun using her maiden name is all part of the connection with her family history of The Shetland Trader. It's a company her mom first started back in the 70's in Shetland. She was innovative with traditional Shetland knitting back then. Gudrun is doing the same now - for the internet generation.

And let me know if your wife had already heard of her. Quite possible...

Go score points!David Anthony Durhamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13885922955551669016noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12158536.post-22859226267338000652012-12-10T15:43:32.783-05:002012-12-10T15:43:32.783-05:00My wife is on Ravelry, and she always finds cool p...My wife is on Ravelry, and she always finds cool patterns there. I'll be sure she looks into Gudrun's stuff soon. (Sorry for assuming her last name was Durham, by the way.)

Directions for knitting patterns really are an exercise in technical writing, I imagine. My wife really likes the projects that are knitted in one piece, and it looks like the book does feature some of that sort of thing. I might actually score some points for surprising her for once.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09224010860969807838noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12158536.post-15555327199195026312012-12-07T16:19:57.860-05:002012-12-07T16:19:57.860-05:00Hi Patrick! She really does wonderful patterns, with well-written directions, too!

Is your wife on Ravelry? (Sort of Knitter Facebook.) At the moment two of her designs are in the top ten for current favorites!David Anthony Durhamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13885922955551669016noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12158536.post-13565480215310883472012-12-06T23:49:53.265-05:002012-12-06T23:49:53.265-05:00Just when I was starting to wonder what to do for ...Just when I was starting to wonder what to do for my wife this year, the Durhams come through! Thanks!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09224010860969807838noreply@blogger.com
