Honestly, any author of color and/or any white author with primary characters of color has experienced some sort of issue with this. Me included. (In foreign markets.)<br /><br />I recently saw a Chinese cover for one of Nalo Hopkinson's books - via a listserve that I'm on with other sff writers - and for once they actually had a lovely African looking woman on the cover - someone that looked like the character is supposed to.
